Who We Are
The St. Michael-Albertville Youth Football organization is dedicated to fostering a nurturing environment where young athletes in grades 2/3–6 can develop their skills, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
We offer a competitive Travel League for players in grades 2/3–6 looking to develop their skills at a higher level. Running a simplified version of the STMA Varsity Knights playbook, with Saturday games ending in mid-October.

The Program
Part of the North Star Youth Football League — a 9-team North Metro league including STMA, Elk River, Rogers, Becker, Big Lake, Monticello, Zimmerman, Rockford, and St. Francis. Year-round engagement with community events, off-season practices, and Head Coach + 3–4 assistant coaches per team.

Introduction to fundamentals — blocking, catching, and basic play concepts in a fun, low-pressure setting.
Building on the basics with structured offensive and defensive formations. Players learn to compete and communicate.
A more competitive level with expanded playbooks, positional training, and a stronger emphasis on teamwork.
The capstone year. Players develop leadership skills and prepare for the step up to middle school football.
Our Staff
Focused on our youngest Knights, this coach provides a positive and high-energy environment where players learn the foundational skills of football, build unshakable confidence, and discover the true meaning of teamwork.
Coach Parker is dedicated to building strong fundamentals and an incredible work ethic. He ensures every player learns the game the right way, smoothing their transition into full 11-on-11 team football with steady encouragement.
Bringing a calm and highly organized coaching style, Coach Gayken empowers his players to compete fiercely while always supporting one another. His goal is to foster consistent, week-by-week improvement on and off the field.
Coach Giedd emphasizes high energy, personal accountability, and smart decision-making. He works tirelessly to ensure his players master their assignments and function together seamlessly as a unified team.
Leading our oldest travel group, Coach Marsh focuses on cultivating strong leadership and rigorous preparation. His priority is equipping these young athletes with the advanced skills and mindset required to succeed at the next level of competitive football.

Travel tackle football runs from August 3 through mid-October, with Saturday league games and team practices set by each coaching staff. Register
The summer 7v7 team runs July 12 through August 9, with Wednesday and Thursday practices beginning July 8 and Sunday games at STMA High School Stadium. Register
The QB / RB / WR skills camp gives players position-specific work on footwork, routes, ball-handling, and technique. Sign up
Registration and the parent meeting are scheduled for July 21 at the MSW Cafeteria.
King of the Grid Iron (Oct 16-18 in Big Lake, MN) and the Westside Classic (Oct 31-Nov 1 in West Des Moines, IA) are back on the events calendar.
STMA competes in the North Star Youth Football League with nearby North Metro communities, giving players a full travel football experience.
Community events, optional off-season practices, skills camps, summer 7v7 opportunities, and tournament updates remain part of the program calendar.
Join us for winter football training in the STMA dome, running from January to April.
